Egg Share

I saw an ad in the paper yesterday with regards to Egg Sharing, basically if you were over 35 and had been told that you would need IVF this company were offering free IVF if you would egg share. Would you consider doing this if you were unable to conceive naturally? What do you think about the fact that the child would be told your name when older? How would you feel if you did do the egg share and you didn't get pg but the woman who got some of your eggs did?

When we had the radio club we debated this issue after listening to discussion on the radio about it.
I think it would be devastating for the woman who gave eggs if the other woman concieved and she didnt. What could be worse for a woman who cannot have her own child to know that she actually does have her own child but another woman has given birth to it!?

Personally I could never give my eggs, I know this might be very selfish but I just am not convinced egg or sperm donation is ethically correct. That is just my opinion though and would not for one minute know what it is like to want a child and not be able to have my own so I am not in a position to comment really.
