Grandparents as Baby sitters/childcare
Is it fair to expect yours or a partners parents to help with childcare on a regular basis? After all, they have done their bit in raising children...is it selfish of a grandparent to not what to care for their grandchildren regularly, more occasionally?
Re: Grandparents as Baby sitters/childcare
Well none of my childrens grandparents have babysat more thatn a handful of times in their childhoods. I wouldnt have a chance to put on them as they would just say no.
Wouldnt grandparents say no if they didnt want to do it like all ours do??
Having said that I remember speaking to a nan at the school and her partner had even left her because she has dedicated her life to her grandchildren! She has at least one every day whilst the parents work and the same all weekend while they go out!

i dont think there is any harm grandparents look after there grandchildren,
Pauls mum has megan 4days a week and takes Madison 2 school 4days a week,
she loves it,
and offered 2 do it when i started workin,
but i dont want her doin it when she's 60 which aint far off really

i do not think it i fair to ask nans and grandads to babysit reguarly, my mum had 4 of us and matty who is 20 is still at home, she loves being with tephen and will babysit for us occasionally but as she says she is alwys glad to hand him back and not have any responsibility, she has been there and done al that which i agree with

i pay my mother in law to take care of Drake. Drake loves to be there and i would prefer in a way. I pay her £50 pounds evey week to take care of drake form tuesday night till thurday evening. Even with me at home drake has to go there otherwise he cries for 2 days... She quit her job so that she could take care of the kids. She loves it. He stays there in the days that i'm working.

My Mum loves having Lillie but she always said before i had her she'd have her while i was in work, Its a great help, she does go to nursery aswell but hse loves going out with Nan & Grandad. Theyve only got Lillie so they dont mind at all x I dont think its unfair to ask, no
