VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - WOMENS WORLD AND VBULLETIN.

Hello everyone!

I bet all of you are sitting there thinking OH GOD what NOW?!?!?! and i dont blame you honestly! Well i wont keep you in suspense. Womens World is NOT closing. I am NOT leaving. BUT...it is MOVING. Before you run off never to be seen again in horror please keep reading, i explain why below!!

Firstly the reasons. You will have noticed that in the past month the forum has had a lot of downtime, when you try to log in you get a white page or an error message. Then the view new posts stops working, then the smilies. Forumotion seems to be really going down hill and because its a FREE software, and not hosted by me, there is nothing i can do when these things happen except twiddle my thumbs and hope the tech team sort it quickly.

Secondly, i dont believe that forumotion are reliable any longer. It is common for free hosts to go bankrupt, then guess what...we lose everything. I am not saying they defiantely will but there is a lot of talk going on, and thes glitches starting up are making me nervous.

Thirdly...the software i chose to BUY, you need a license for. It cost me £100 to buy it but its mine for life. I am FULLY responsible for it and if it needs fixed, guess whom has to do it! But Vbulletin (the software) is the best of the best out there. The King of forum software (hence the price!) and the most reliable. It has other technical reasons why its much better too, such as being much more search engine friendly.

So theres me. £100 quid down and hoping it wont be for nothing! i CANT move all our posts. But i can give you the same post count as you have on here. You can have your same rank as you do on here. I can even register for you with the same profile details that you have on here (email, username etc) and pm you your password which youc an change at any time yourself.

Vbulletin has some amazing features, from rating threads, giving/receiving member reputation, social networking style profile pages and friend requests, the ability to post anonymously at the touch of a button...its pretty great.

yes you can claire, thats absolutely fine! Sharon the only reason it would go down, is if my paid hosting company go down, and they have a 99% uptime rating, so pretty reliable i would say. Plus if anything was to happen to the forum and it was to disappear into thin air, i do a daily back up which means i can restore it within minutes. There will always be little glitches with the internet, but with vbulletin, it should be a lot less than forumotion and you have the added benefit of holding me fully responsible lol!

Now ANYONE can register themselves, feel free to go ahead, i dont HAVE to register you, but if you would like me to do so, i will have to pick a password for you. I will also need to know wether you want me to change your post count to match what it says on here.
