Mod Guide/Tools/Training Forums
Hello All!
I am sorry i am late in putting this up!
Now, you will only be able to moderate the forums that have your name as amod, or has moderating team. So this is what your mod tools look like:

see those six little buttons? from left to right they mean: Delete, move, lock, split and merge the topic.
To delete it, just click the delete button and confirm.
To move it, just click the move button. You then need to choose the forum you want to move it to in the drop down menu that appears. Dont click leave shadow topic leave the white box blank, then click yes.
To Lock a topic, just click the button that has a lock on it, and confirm, that will stop any more posts being able to be made on tha particular topic.
To split a topic...this gets more complicated. Select the split topic button (hoveering your mouse over the buttons will also tell you which is which) on the next page, you need to select the post you want to split from the other posts in the topic, by checking the box beside it. You then need to go to back to the top and type a new title for the new topic the selected post will become. SO suppose you have a new member whom has added their introduction on to the end of anothe rmembers, you would select their post to split from the rest, and entitle it something like..dee's introduction, or welcome dee. Once you have given it a title, you need to choose the forum you want it to appear in, from the drop down list then make sure you select...SPLIT SELECTED POSTS.
Finally to merge a topic. Suppose you have made a welcome post for someone, but then they go make one for themselves, this is where merging comes in. Go into the topic you want to merge with another. click the merge button. you will then need to click SELECT, to select the topic you want to merge your one with. You can change forums by using the drop down menu in the top right. select the topic you want to be merged with your one, by clicking the circle beside it. then click send.
I would suggest that if you want to have a go at any of your tools, have this topic open in another window to refer back to, and if you get stuck...let me know!

A guide to being a mod!
well now the forum is getting bigger, there is a bit more to be done on the mod side of things, so i thought i would make a guide to follow on what to be looking for etc! The training board has been set up, please feel free to practise on it at any time as well!
SO...guide to modding.
1. Each time you log in, please check your forums that you are mod of, for any new posts/topics. See if any posts/topics need to be moved, edited or deleted. This includes deleting double posts made by accident!
2. Please then try to answer any new posts/topics in your forums, make sure there are none left unanswered.
3. Please try to think of a new topic at least once a day to add to your forum.
4. Please check team talk daily, to see if there are any messages for you, and dont be offended if another mod has noticed something needing done in your forum, they will only be saying, as they are not able to do it themselves. If there is anything you are unsure of, please ask in team talk, or pm myself.
Now i know we are all busy, i myself in finding new members, which means i am stalking other forums etc to harass, fran you have your sigs, tracey you have wedding plans and so on, hev a new baby and ali too so dont worry if some days you cant manage to get through all new topics etc, but if you do feel its becoming too much for you, then let me know and we can either see about a change of forum to mod, that isnt quite as busy, or if you would rather not mod anymore, i wont be offended either.
Its hard for me to ask a lot of you, as i cant pay you for the work you do on the site and i also dont want to make anyone feel they are not up to standard because you all are, its just the busier the forum gets the more likely there are to be posts in the wrong places and so on, which can make the forum disorganised etc.
Finally, alli am able to do is to day thank you and i am very grateful for the time and effort you all put in. xxx
