The Warning System, FAQ.

Q. Why do we have a warning system?

A. Every good community has a few members that may time to time break the rules of the community. It can be very easy for the team members to be accused of throwing their weight around and picking on members, so we have a strict rules and warning policy in place. Every member has enough room for 3 warnings. If they reach three, they will be banned for a total of 3 weeks, one week for each warning. If they then come back and incur further warnings it will result in a permanent ban.

Q. What are the rules? What will incur a warning?

The rules were on the page of terms you would have agreed to on sign up, however i doubt many people read them, so below is the strict list of rules that will incur you a warning.

1. Personally attacking another member on the boards. We appreciate disputes will happen, but you all have private messaging rights, if you have to row, please keep it to pm. This is because fights on the forum are not pleasant or welcoming to new members.

2. Spamming the forums, advertising anything commercial at all, trolling the forums (joining just to cause trouble by creating silly posts) using the pm system to spam, all of that will incur you a warning. Depending on the severity of it, it could incur an immediate suspension for one week, but not a ban.

3. Copying content (anything written or images) from this forum and using it on another forum, if you are a member, will result in a warning.

4. Attacking the staff or their decisions will result in a warning. If you dont like something use the contact admin link to discuss it in an adult manner. Attacking the staff will result in a suspension of one week.

These are all things that will result in warnings or suspensions and this list may be updated at any time. Appeals against warnings are welcome, but admins decision will remain final. Whilst we will endeavour to keep members happy, any contests over an admins decision will be removed and a warning issued.

Well isnt that all a bit doom and gloom. Good job that most members using forums join with the intention of using them, not ruining them, so i am sure we wont have to implement any of this very often at all.
